The Peaceful Majority

Carol just sent me an email with an interesting article written by Paul Marek, who writes a blog here:

Anyway, the article that is interesting is this one:

It’s a bit more than a year old, but absolutely timeless. I’ll give you a couple paragraphs from his blog entry, and ask you to go and read the rest yourself.

He writes about a German friend:

“Very few people were true Nazis” he said, “but, many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care. I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.”

And, a little later in the article, Paul writes this:

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people. The Average Japanese individual prior to World War 2 was not a war mongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of Killing that included the systematic killing of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet. And, who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were “peace loving”.

I’m not sure that I could have said it better myself.

The Muslims stand on the brink of history in the same way that the German people did when Hitler came to power. We also stand on the brink of history in the same way that the rest of the world stood before Hitler.

We should pray that we will succeed where our forefathers failed.

Again, go to the following for the full entry:

Thanks also for Carol for letting me know about the above.

  1. Cool Article Carol:)
My Mom was a kid during WWII and My Dad served in the Army.
The difference is in technology and communication. When was the television invented?Computers? They used typewriters.
Air conditioning? People put a block of ice in front of a fan.People went on day to day living without the knowledge of what was going on, but tried to keep informed. Now, there is so much information out there it is overwhelming and easy to ignore, especially with the pace of life these days.
I wonder what would happen if someone slipped an anti-psychotic drug into the drinks of the Jihads.

  2. I will read the article tomorrow, but OH MY Goodness! That first bit about the Germans and Nazis is happening right now before my eyes here in Venezuela with the Chavista!

  4. The complacent here in Venezuela, who just want to live in peace and the ones who really bother me. The fact that they just don’t care and actually believe that things will get better if they just ignore them. Same with the Muslims.
