I’ve been pondering the path that the world has been taking in terms of Iran and her nuclear program. It should be clear to any observer that the world is doing as little as it can. I’m starting to wonder if it’s worse than that.
I’m starting to wonder if the world knows that if they go slow enough, Israel will take care of the problem for them – knowing that Israel will be hurt in the process. And, any fallout from this attack would be laid at Israel’s door.

America will step in and save the day.
That’s essentially what Leon Panetta said at AIPAC.
So, how many Israelis need to die before we reach this ‘when all else fails’ mark?
Few of us were alive during The Holocaust. But, did you know that the United States knew what was happening to the Jews in Europe?
And, they did nothing.
So, it’s clear to me that the murder of six million Jews isn’t enough to qualify as reaching the ‘If All Else Fails’ criteria.
America will step in and save the day.

Maybe Israel WILL attack soon. Of course, it’s kinda hard to tell with so many different voices yelling one thing, while others loudly proclaim something completely different.
But, that may be exactly what Israel wants. If Israel is NOT going to attack Iran, Israel still needs to maintain a credible threat to convince the Iranians to negotiate. If Israel IS going to attack, she certainly doesn’t want Iran to be forewarned.
I guess that you might say that all of this is the psychological warfare stage of the conflict.

There has been a marked downturn in the rhetoric on war with Iran. Israel is talking ‘give diplomacy a chance’. The US is talking ‘give diplomacy a chance’. The world breathes a sigh of relief.
So… What has changed?…
Well, a few things have changed. Barack Hussein Obama is a week closer to reelection, and Prime Minister Netanyahu is meeting with the US President. THAT is all the change that you need to know to understand the change in rhetoric.
It should be clear to all of us that Obama said something to Netanyahu that either confirmed America’s willingness to defend Israel or scared Netanyahu into changing his tone. Or, both.

Netanyahu is going to be meeting with Obama on the 5th, and it will be America’s last chance to convince Israel that the US can be trusted to handle the Iranian nuclear problem.
And, the funny thing is that Israel actually WANTS to be convinced. Israel WANTS to believe that America can be trusted. Israel WANTS to believe that America will not betray her, as the US has done in the past. Israel WANTS America to take the lead.
Unfortunately, Israel KNOWS that America cannot be trusted. Israel KNOWS that America will betray anyone and everyone. And, Israel KNOWS that America will not take the lead and do what’s necessary.
