What FDR and the US State Department did to Holocaust survivors is beyond description and is a damning indictment of the foundations of the government of the United States of America. What my government has done in my name, and in the name of my parents and grandparents truly an abomination. And, the US State Department continues to be governed by the same philosophy for the same abominably vile reasons.

Worse, I know that these are but a few examples of how my values and your values have been so thoroughly betrayed. How can any American be proud of his or her country.

The good thing is that the US government isn’t America, and the average American isn’t as vile and evil as their leaders. And, it is clear to me that when you show Americans what their government has done, they seek to redress the wrongs done in their name.

And, they have.

United States Antisemitism after the Holocaust: Survivors and their American guards, 1945–57

“The popular perception about the horrors of the Holocaust is that they ended with the surrender of Germany. In reality, the passive neglect of the victorious Allies, while not as devastating as the active persecution at the hands of the Nazis, proved a prolongation of many of the same inhumane conditions.”

Introduction: Survivors and the American DP camps, 1945–57

“Three days after the liberation of Bergen-Belsen, Josef Rosensaft was elected head of the first Jewish DP committee. Similar committees were set up in other DP camps. However, relations between the Jewish DPs and the Allied military authorities soon became strained. Curfews were imposed and the DPs were given limited rations. Many had to wear concentration camp uniforms and they were often housed in camps… sometimes even with Nazi collaborators.” While the Jews were forced to live in concentration camps German’s displaced by the war, America’s defeated enemy, were favored for housing. Antisemitism by the U.S. military was a reality of the occupation that extended also to profiteering in food and medicine stolen from the refugees and sold on the black market. The result was death by starvation and sickness for DP-inmates under their supervision.

Föhrenwald was one of the largest DP camps in Europe. Opened in June, 1945 it was the last DP camp to close, twelve years later, in 1957. During the war it housed slave laborers.

In 1945 Professor Robert Hilliard was a 19 year Jewish private serving in Eisenhower’s occupation forces in Germany. American forces occupying the defeated country were far friendlier and accommodating towards the defeated, but clean and cultured enemy than they were with the victims of the defeated nation. Destitute, starved and possessing only the rags they wore upon liberation, to the Americans the Jews were loud, demanding and dirty, stealing food in town to replace that sold by the GI’s guarding them. Displaced Germans were favored with housing in town while the survivors would be forced to remain for years rotting in those over-crowded concentration camps renamed Displaced Person (DP) centers. Outraged Hilliard and another soldier, 25 year-old Edward Herman, complained up the chain of command. And when their complaint was disregarded, took their protest to the press. Public disclosure reached the White House and President Truman dispatched Earl G. Harrison, U.S. representative on the Intergovernmental Committee for Refugees, to Europe to investigate.

Harrison confirmed the abuses and in his report to the president recommended changes to improve the lot of the Jews. One such involved the policy of the military forcing the survivors to remain in the liberated extermination camps: “…so long as we continued to keep Jews, for example, in camps under our guard instead of S.S. troops as formerly, we would appear to be treating the Jews as the Nazis treated them except that we do not exterminate them.”

I wrote yesterday that America not only stood still during The Holocaust, but intentionally assisted in furthering The Holocaust by turning away those who sought refuge in the US. This fact has brought eternal shame on America and, I believe, eternal judgment.

Now that we are on the doorstep of yet another Holocaust, we find that America is yet again furthering the designs of a new set of perpetrators. Whether it is assisting the Arabs in their attempt to massacre the Jews, or in resisting attempts to stop the genocidal regime in Iran, the US is helping give birth to a new Holocaust.

Don’t you think that it’s time that we did something about that?

Will you stand for the Jewish people in their hour of need?

Or, will you be numbered among those who did nothing.

Is the Holocaust about to happen again?
Today’s events seem to parallel horrific era of Nazi Germany

History books recount how 6 million Jews, or more, died in Adolf Hitler’s final solution, but that was in another generation and nothing ever would happen like today, many believe.

After all, the atrocities are well-documented, after Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, later to be president, ordered an extensive video and still photography record of the horrors uncovered by American troops who liberated the death camps in Germany.

Eisenhower explained his instructions as news media and military combat camera units recorded the scenes, saying “I made the visit deliberately, in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to ‘propaganda.’”

But according to the Washington Post, sports fans in the United Kingdom even now can purchase scarves and stickers saying “Jews forbidden.”

And a Nobel Prize-winning German poet recently publicly blamed Israel for endangering an “already fragile world peace.”

In France, a recent massacre by a gunman targeted Jews, and at Rutgers, an “April Fools” edition of an editorial “praised Adolf Hitler.”

It’s maddening.

To my mind, there can be no greater argument for a coming judgment upon America than this fact. And, I document the progress of that judgment in my other website, OmegaShock.com.

The bitter irony is that America herself is writing the final chapter of her headlong rush into the abyss. Greed, corruption, mismanagement and utter foolishness has crowded the headlines of our newspapers, so it shouldn’t be news to anyone that America’s fall is a forgone conclusion.

And, all that America needed to do was hold true to her origins. America’s founders would never have closed her doors to millions of Jews desperately seeking a safe haven – just as America’s founders would never have countenanced the incredible blunders of the recent past.

Like all fools, the US is about to reap a fool’s reward.

The acquiescence of the United States in the murder of the Jews

Introduction: I can think of no more damning condemnation of American antisemitism become state policy than a document, and the situation that inspired it, produced within the American government itself. The title alone expresses a degree of outrage that, explicit as it was, hardly touches the result of decades of antisemitism expressed in discriminatory congressional immigrant legislation and the Roosevelt Administration’s indifference and passive participation in the murder of Europe’s Jews. The document’s title is Report to the Secretary on the Acquiescence of This Government in the Murder of the Jews.

Unfortunately, the history of the US is blemished – blemished in ways that are truly horrifying. We massacred the American Indian and drove them onto barren ‘reservations’. We enslaved the African, in ways that horrified even the Europeans. Then, we turned our back on the Jewish people in their most desperate hour, and six million died.

We could have stopped Hitler before a single Jew had died, and we KNEW what was happening.

We knew and did nothing.

No, we did worse than nothing. We turned away Jewish refugees desperate for sanctuary. I shudder to think of how God will judge America and Europe for that.

Unfortunately, we didn’t stop there. We have compounded our sins by how we have treated Israel – and how we are treating Israel now. Yes, there have been those of us who have befriended Israel. And, there have been times when America has been a true friend. But, there have been far too many times when Israel was abandoned in her most desperate hour.

And, I believe that we are doing it yet again. More than six million Jews face yet another holocaust. Are we going to turn our back on Jews in their most desperate hour?

Unfortunately, I believe that we will.

The United States and the Holocaust, 2: Roosevelt before Auschwitz

“20,000 charming [Jewish] children would all too soon grow into 20,000 ugly adults.”

Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Adolf Hitler took office months apart in 1933. Both died in office days apart in April, 1945. And between them rested the fate of hundreds of millions lives, including those of every Jew alive in the world. Mere chance, the defeat of the Reich in the Second World War, limited the Final Solution to the Jewish Problem to the continent of Europe.

In September, 1935 the Reichstag passed a group of laws depriving German Jews of citizenship and protection under the law. And although the Third Reich’s escalating persecution of the Jews was followed by the US press beginning in 1933 (US campus press also followed the developing persecution) the Nuremburg Laws elicited little response by the White House. Responding to an international call for a conference to address the growing refugee problem the president chose not a government representative, but a businessman friend to represent the US at Evian.

The Evian Conference convened in July, 1938 and continued for nine days with nothing concrete regarding refuge for the Jews. “[D]elegate after delegate rose to express sympathy for the refugees. But most countries, including the United States and Britain, offered excuses for not letting in more refugees. Only the Dominican Republic agreed to accept additional refugees.”

“Responding to Evian, the German government was able to state with great pleasure how ‘astounding’ it was that foreign countries criticized Germany for their treatment of the Jews, but none of them wanted to open the doors to them when ‘the opportunity offer[ed].’”

A more substantive response by Roosevelt would have to wait for a more dramatic escalation in persecution.

And Hitler was only to happy to oblige. Three months later Germany unleashed a pogrom that included Austria, Germany-annexed Czechoslovakia and Germany itself. Over the two days-long Krystallnacht outrage synagogues burned, Jewish store windows were smashed and looted, and nearly 100 Jews were murdered. 30,000 men were beaten and sent to prison camps, and 20,000 children were homeless.

The president responded in a radio interview on November 15, 1938. He announced that he had instructed his ambassador to deliver a protest to Hitler; he was also recalling the ambassador temporarily for “consultations.” And finally, he announced, he had instructed the State Department to renew the visas of German Jews then visiting the United States. Regarding refuge from Germany’s escalating persecution the president felt, “The time is not ripe for that.” Could the immigration quota be relaxed, “That is not in contemplation, we have the quota system.”

Neither was the president alone in opposing refuge for Jews. A 1938 “opinion poll revealed that 82 percent of Americans still opposed admitting large numbers of Jewish refugees into the United States.”

Hitler gleefully rubbed the West’s collective nose in its hypocrisy. “It is a shameful example to observe today how the entire democratic world dissolves in tears of pity but then, in spite of its obvious duty to help, closes its heart to the poor, tortured Jewish people.” The “entire democratic world” was justifying his program for the Jews.

That’s essentially what Leon Panetta said at AIPAC.

So, how many Israelis need to die before we reach this ‘when all else fails’ mark?

Few of us were alive during The Holocaust. But, did you know that the United States knew what was happening to the Jews in Europe?

And, they did nothing.

So, it’s clear to me that the murder of six million Jews isn’t enough to qualify as reaching the ‘If All Else Fails’ criteria.

America has a history of ignoring murder of innocent civilians and only acting when they have a specific interest. And, when you ask the US State Department, they’ll tell you that Israel isn’t interesting. They would be horrified that six million Jews were murdered, but then they’d go off to a well-deserved lunch break and talk about how senseless and vile the world was. Then, they’d pat themselves on the back and congratulate each other on how good they all were.

(They are truly fine fellows at the US State Department. Truly fine. Just ask them.)

That’s pretty much how the US handled The Holocaust, and that’s pretty much how we’d handle the annihilation of Israel.

And, Israel knows this.

Panetta: US will use force against Iran if all else fails

US defense secretary tells AIPAC that “military action is the last alternative… but if all else fails, we will act,” stresses steps Obama administration’s commitment to Israel’s military edge.

WASHINGTON – The US would use military force against Iran if all else failed, US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta declared on Monday, labeling Iran’s quest for nuclear weapons the biggest menace facing the United States.

“No greater threat exists to Israel, to the entire region, and indeed to the United States, than a nuclear-armed Iran,” Panetta told the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s Policy Conference. “Military action is the last alternative if all else fails, but make no mistake: When all else fails, we will act.”

Though members of the US administration – including President Barack Obama during his own speech to AIPAC on Sunday – have spoken repeatedly about the danger Iran poses, it is rare for administration officials to give it such primacy. And Panetta’s warning that America was positioned to use force if necessary also went further than most officials’ previous statements.

Throughout his remarks, the defense secretary stressed the US commitment to Israel’s security, the steps it had taken to maintain Israel’s qualitative military edge and the countries’ shared regional concerns.
