Seriously. I got caught napping.
The US is sending an Aircraft Carrier Battle Group (or at least a Strike Group) to Israel – along with several thousand US troops. AND, they are integrating US and Israeli command staff – both at EUCOM in Germany and at HaKirya in Tel Aviv (Israel’s version of the Pentagon).
And, this isn’t just a one-off exercise because it’s being referred to as a deployment. So, quite a bit of what appears in and around Israel – and is American – will stick around after the exercise is over.
How far will this integration go?

Apparently, the US and Israel are talking about what would trigger a bombing campaign to take out Iran’s nuclear weapons, and the US is hoping to allay Israel’s fear that America will do nothing.
The problem is that Israel isn’t stupid, and they’ve seen America fail to act too, too many times. And, THAT isn’t going to make Israel feel comfortable.
The question that Israel will need to ask itself is whether the US understands the threat, and whether the US is prepared to do something about it. However, if I was advising the Israeli government, I’d tell them that the US does NOT understand the threat and that the US is NOT prepared to do something about that threat.

If that’s not enough of a reason to vote against him, try these rather interesting facts:
- He’s a 9/11 Truther
- He doesn’t believe that we should have fought Hitler in WWII (or, that we had any business fighting to save the Jews of Europe)
- He wants to legalize Heroin
Need I go on?
Yes, Ron Paul has ideas that have my complete support, and I believe that he is probably a man of good character and values. But, you need more than that for a president. You need someone with common sense, and Ron Paul doesn’t have that.

Not since Jimmy Carter have we had such an enemy of Israel in the White House.
And, the comparisons between Obama and Carter are startling. Both presidents have overseen a comprehensive destruction of American military and financial power. Both presidents handled vital American foreign policy and defense issues badly, and vital American allies fell from power – to be replaced with governments deadly to the interests of the United States. Both presidents handed strategic assets over to those who have vowed to destroy both the US and Israel.

This is a preview of
Obama – The Anti-Israel President

Amazing.
Leon Panetta, Secretary of Defense for the Obama administration, actually said what all of us have been jumping up and screaming about. Iran could have a nuclear weapon in a year or less.
The scary thing is that when it gets acknowledged at THIS LEVEL, the problem is massive.
One good bit of news from all this is the tacit green light given to the Israelis to attack Iran. The US will no longer control Iraqi air space, and the Iraqi military have no military assets that could deny Israeli overflight of Iraq. However, that will change by the end of 2012 when Iraq accepts delivery of aircraft and surface to air missiles that they have on order with US defense manufacturers.
