On Our Way to Armageddon

Ahem!

This is your captain speaking.

I’d like to welcome everyone on our flight today. We’re about ready to take off, so I would ask everyone to take there seats.

I would also like to take this moment to remind you that this is a one way flight. If you were expecting a different destination, tough. Please understand that, as of now, all flights are one-way to Armageddon.

For your safety, we ask that you fasten your seat belts. The ride is going to be bumpy, and we don’t expect everyone to survive it. Please don’t forget to locate the vomit bags in the back of the seat in front of you. Most of you are going to want to throw up before this is all over.

Those of you that haven’t found your seats yet, I’d like to point out that all the seats in first class are empty. No one really chooses first class on a flight like this.

Have a pleasant trip.

—————————–

My, what difference a few days make. Just last week, we were in La-La Land, and today we stare into the face of utter catastrophe.

If you don’t see it now, you will, soon enough.

As you read this, markets may (or may not) have resumed their downward spiral. If I had any money invested in the stock market, I’d have pulled it out a long time ago. None of us are going to like what we see when this is all over.

But, that’s kinda’ beside the point. We are on our way to Armageddon, and there’s no getting off until this plane gets there. Why do I say this?

Well, for starters, everyone with any knowledge events in the Middle East understand that some kind of conflict with Iran is inevitable. Everything that the US has tried, has failed. To our utter shock, Iran wasn’t even vulnerable to being talked to death.

(Who would have thought?)

Now, even though there is a distinct lack of intelligence in the White House, you can still bet that there are plenty of brains rattling around in the Pentagon, and some of those brains will have presented plans to attack Iran, to take out their nuclear weapons capability.

You can also bet that our boy Obama has rejected each and every one of them.

But, that was before our current debacle. No one expected that America would have its credit rating downgraded. It had never happened before. It was completely unexpected.

Yet, it happened.

Now that the DJIA has lost more than 1100 points in just two days, you can bet that the White House is in a panic over what to do.

Enter the latest Rasmussen poll. The report came on Sunday, and it paints a chilling picture.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 17% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government today has the consent of the governed. Sixty-nine percent (69%) believe the government does not have that consent. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The number of voters who feel the government has the consent of the governed – a foundational principle, contained in the Declaration of Independence – is down from 23% in early May and has fallen to its lowest level measured yet.

Only just 17% of Likely U.S. Voters think the federal government today has the consent of the governed?

At what percentage do the people decide to revolt against the government?

We cannot be all that far from that now, and a stock market crash isn’t going to help that figure.

Now, most of the “Political Class” seem to have their head in the clouds, with some 55% of them thinking that it’s all okay. Again, from the Rasmussen poll:

Fifty-five percent (55%) of the Political Class, on the other hand, feel the government does have the consent of the governed. Seventy-seven percent (77%) of Mainstream voters disagree.

Most voters across the demographic board believe the average congressman listens to their party leaders more than the people they represent.

But, they will eventually wake up to the fact that everything’s not okay, and they will grab at anything to keep the country from falling apart. The most traditional ‘thing’ to grab is war, so  you can bet that, as reality sets in, those plans to attack Iran will be looked at again… and approved.

So, we’re going to war, baby.

But, that doesn’t get us to Armageddon.

There’s great little book that’s come out just last week, and it’s appropriately titled “After America”. And, it’s written by Mark Steyn. He writes in his introduction:

Nobody writes a doomsday tome because they want it to come true. From an author’s point of view, the apocalypse is not helpful: the bookstores get looted and the collapse of the banking system makes it harder to cash the royalty check. But Cassandra’s warnings were cursed to go unheeded, and so it seems are mine. Last time ’round, I wrote that Europe was facing a largely self-inflicted perfect storm that threatened the very existence of some of the oldest nation-states in the world. My warning proved so influential that America decided to sign up for the same program but supersized. Heigh-ho.

But, it’s the subtitle that caught my eye: “Get Ready for Armageddon”.

Indeed.

Here’s an interview with Mark by Ed Driscoll:

Now, Mark doesn’t talk about war with Iran. I do.

And, unfortunately I don’t see how we are going to win this war. And when we retire from the battlefield, Iran will be free to do what the bible has promised that it would do – attack Israel. In Ezekiel 38, Persia is listed among the group that comes to attack Israel. The great thing to remember is that Ezekiel 39 details their defeat.

Is this great?

Of course it is… for Israel.

But, not for America. First, because America is demonstrably shown to be powerless to stop the coalition. Second, by what is described here in Ezekiel 39:

3 and I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy hordes, and the peoples that are with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah.

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell securely in the isles; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

 Sounds great, right?

But, what’s that last verse there:

6 And I will send a fire on Magog, and on them that dwell securely in the isles; and they shall know that I am Jehovah.

What is that fire?

Remember what I said about an EMP attack on North America?

They call what happened the Carrington Event. And, when it occurs again, it will destroy all sensitive electronics and the US power grid. Much of the ‘Developed World’ will become instantly undeveloped – and start to die.

I think that it’s THAT kind of fire. And, they talk about it in a recent article in the International Business Times:

Severe Solar Storms Could Disrupt Earth This Decade: NOAA

If America wasn’t toast before that event, it will have been toast after it.

Could it be that we will see this initial version of Armageddon in 2013?

From where I stand right now, I don’t think that anyone can say for sure. But, so much is rushing rapidly towards that moment that we should not discount it.

Friends, we have truly difficult times ahead. And yes, you probably will want to throw up before it’s all over.
