Yossi was sick and Skyped me this morning.
He thought that he could share the pain, but I was having none of it. I’ll do a lot for friends, but taking on a nasty bout of food poisoning is right over the line.
However, Yossi DID succeed in dropping a bomb on me. He very casually said, “Oh by the way, did you know that Sandmonkey is down?”
Whoa. Sandmonkey is ‘off the air’?
I couldn’t believe it.

If you run around on the Internet looking for stories about Israel, you are going to run across Israpundit. Ted Belman is the editor and is one of seven writers who contribute pieces about Israel, Terrorism, the Arab world, etc.
Israpundit writes extensively on almost any subject connected to Israel, and they are prolific. For instance, here is the article list for just today and yesterday:
Israel economy update
Pakistan at the crossroadsÂ
Lebanon’s Future
On being Jewish: Is Tribalism good or bad?Â
The US should focus on Iran and not Iraq. Total war not limited war .

There is a difference between public and private morality.
You cannot incarcerate people that the state is required to incarcerate. You cannot injure people that the state is required to injure. Nor, can you kill the people that the state is required to kill.
It would be immoral for the government to tell the truth about certain things – when it would be immoral for people to lie. It would be immoral for a private citizen to extort money from a neighbor, but we give this power to the government for the good of everyone.

Familiarity breeds contempt.
We are cynical about the people that we know and romantic about the people that we don’t know. Benefits of the doubt are granted to obscure and shadowy political groups, and vitriol is ladled out to the governments that we know.
Transparency may be beneficial to the body politic, but it’s a curse to your image.
That’s why Hamas seems to have been able to gain some real ‘brownie points’ when they were able to ’obtain’ the release of Alan Johnston, the kidnapped BBC reporter.

I think that it’s time to start reviewing other Israel resources out there. I’m not the only one out there that is offering you a view from a place called Israel. Of course, I humbly submit that no one quite has the, um… sense of the ridiculous that I do.
It takes a Little guy.
However, I am unrelentingly negative, and I think that it’s time that you had something more positive with your breakfast.
With that in mind, I hope to be spending more time reviewing other viewpoints that you should be considering.
