Stepping On Them

In my campaign to sow shock and horror among an innocent and unsuspecting readership, I offer yet another factoid on Islam and the way of death.

Do you remember the war between Iran and Iraq? Back in the 80s?

Yes, I’m that old. One day, you will be too.

Anyway, the Iraqis had superior weapons, but the Iranians had better moral and a larger population. Of course that meant that the Iranians threw a lot of infantry at modern tanks. The casualties were horrific, but that’s not my point.

My Iranian Neighbors

I just found out that the neighbors to the place where I am staying are Iranian. In fact, just a minute ago, I saw the father back out of his garage and run into my host’s fence. Should I consider this yet another form of state-sponsored Iranian terrorism? A thinly-veiled strike against Israel?

Okay, maybe not. They probably left Iran, like many have done (and still do) because it is a place that has become unbearable. They seem like a pretty good family, and I feel sorry for their little boy who doesn’t seem to have many friends.

A Choice

Commenting on yesterday’s post, Carol beautifully illustrated how I feel about the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

Frustration. Hopelessness.

The intelligentsia of this world write their little articles about how shameful Israel is in mistreating the downtrodden Palestinian. In their eyes, the poor Palestinian is the Noble Savage of a bygone era.

What they choose not to see is the violence against the weak, the honor killings, the child abuse, the lack of respect for the sanctity of life.

They Can Always Make More

Many have been surprised, shocked and horrified recently by ‘new’ developments in the tactics used by terrorists. They’re using children, and targeting children.

I am surprised at their surprise. Muslim terrorists have been targeting children for decades because they know that the more you love your kids, the more you will hurt when they kill them.

Lovely people. Just lovely.

But, it doesn’t stop there.

Until They Learn to Forgive

When it comes to Israel, no one has ever found me to be at a ‘loss for words’. Truth be told, I am frustrated that I don’t have the time to say everything that I have to say. That means that I need to pick and choose what to say. I like to think that this means that you get the best of what I have to say.

This morning, as I was thinking about what to say, that morning’s list was growing by the moment. Think each morning’s list as my daily dose of ’shock and awe’. Anyway, the list. It was growing. At the same time, I was listening to the radio. Multitasking.
