We all have our personal struggles. All of us. And, each of those struggles says something about us.

One of my personal struggles is Jimmy Carter.

I was a kid when Jimmy was president, and they were some of the leanest years of my life. It would be several years before I was old enough to understand why those years were so lean, and why Jimmy was responsible.

Of course, he wasn’t solely responsible. There were a host of supporting actors that shared responsibility: Congress, OPEC, Iran, the USSR, etc.

Well, I guess that the Palestinians are getting a little better at the bomb making business. I generally consider efficiency to be a good thing, but I’ll make an exception in this case.

The following is excerpted from yesterday’s Jerusalem Post:

Under Hizbullah guidance, Palestinian terror groups in the West Bank have recently obtained high-grade explosives that have significantly improved the effectiveness of roadside improvised explosive devices (IED) used against IDF patrols, senior defense officials told The Jerusalem Post on Monday.

Thirty Five Thousand civilians have died since the invasion of Iraq.

Thirty Five Thousand.

Not by war. Not at the hands of American troops. Not even at the hand of a brutal dictator.

It was fellow Muslims. Followers of Islam and the Koran. Devotees of Mohammed.

And, there was no, “Ooops. Sorry. We were targeting American troops and missed.”

There was no collateral damage in this figure, except for the few accidentally killed by American soldiers.

Accidental death is just that – accidental.

In this figure, it was absolute, cold-blooded murder.

Great News!

Well, it looks like the Iranian nuclear weapons program is behind schedule!

This is GREAT news!

They were supposed to have had a complete uranium enrichment program up and running and producing fuel rods, but they are just now installing their new centrifuges - about 3,000 of them. Apparently, they’re having a bit of trouble keeping them from exploding in their test runs.

However, they are installing them NOW. I guess this means that they have fixed the exploding centrifuge problem?

Of course, one wonders if their Little problem has ten fingers and ten toes.

Larry Derfner is annoying. Sanctimonious. Arrogant. A Leftist with a big L.

And far too often right.

That’s the worst part. I hate that. A Leftist that gets at least some things right. (Okay, okay, more than some things.)

Here’s what he wrote in the Jerusalem Post yesterday:

Rattling the Cage: Chapperim, macherim, and shtinkerim
