Got sick again. Can you believe it?

That’s why I’ve been so spotty with my blogging. However, I should be entering a quiet patch in November which should allow me to be more consistant.

Why November?

Well, I’m running around like a crazy person, trying to get everything ready for a major trip to the US. Some things are going smoothly. Some things aren’t.

When it rains, it pours.

Of course in Israel, that is both true and a blessing.

Holding Out the Hand of Peace

The problem with Israelis is that they’re only human.

If they were say… part Martian, things would be better.

The problem with being human, is that when you stub your toe, it’s hard to think about your neighbor who’s fighting cancer. When you are having trouble feeding your kids, it’s impossible to think about giving food to someone else. When you are threatened by SOME of your neighbors, you tend to fear ALL of your neighbors. When you suffer at the hands of those with hidden agendas, you start to suspect hidden agendas in everyone.

It’s a human thing.

I was bullied as a kid.

It was awful. It was horribly damaging.

I got over it.

I also learned from it. One of the things that I learned was that a determined defense will stop a bully. If a bully knows that he is going to suffer when he bullies someone, he’ll seek for easier prey. They may inflict more damage on you than you inflict on them, but they still won’t like the damage that they received.

Furthermore, I’ve found that bullies tend to be disfunctional and unable to cooperate effectively with each other – at least in the long term.

A New Look

Hi Everyone!

As you can tell, we’ve got a format.

I was tired of the unrelenting gray, and was going to do something about it. Do a few tweaks. Add some graphics. Make it better. But, that was before I noticed that some of the ads on the site were nothing short of horrendous.

That had to stop.

It doesn’t mean that ads won’t creep back onto the site. (After all, there is a limit to how much pro bono work that I can do.) But, they will be MUCH more appropriate.

Anyway, enjoy the new look!

A Call for Revolution

The Palestinians are working up to it – inch by inch. As the body count increases, people are going to start calling it what it is, instead of dancing around the subject.

Call it whatever you like, but it’s still civil war – the most un-civil idea in the dictionary.

Why is this civil war happening? Why are Palestinians killing each other?

I could answer that by talking about the evil of Hamas and Islamic Jihad and the other terrorists among the Palestinians. I could talk about corruption and violence in Palestinian society. All that would be true, but those answers would not address the root.
