No Lies Too Deep

You hafta love Islam. There’s just so much room for maneuver.

Take lying for instance. It’s not only allowed, but encouraged when dealing with infidels. Here’s an excerpt of the article Lying in Islam by Abdullah Al Araby from IslamReview.com:

…passages from the Quran clearly reveal that Muslims’ unintentional lies are forgivable and that even their intentional lies can be absolved by performing extra duties. It is also clear that if forced to do so, Muslims can lie while under oath and can even falsely deny faith in Allah, as long as they maintain the profession of faith in their hearts.

Enter the Mahdaviat

Enter the Mahdaviat.

We’ve talked about the Nazism at the roots of the Palestinian national movement. We’ve hinted at the genocidal racism at the roots of other Sunni radicals.

But, what about the Shia?

What lies at the root of Shiite radical Islam?

Something far, far more frightening than neo-Nazi ideology. When dealing with Nazis, you can at least appeal to their sense of self-preservation. Yes, yes I know that they preach self-immolation in the form of suicide bombing, but that’s for the rank and file. The leadership are far more concerned with living well and sending their kids to London to earn advanced degrees in eyewear – like Hafez did for his boy Bashar.

The Sunni-Shia Divide

To outsiders, the difference between the Sunnis and the Shiites seems rather vague and esoteric. They both absolutely believe and venerate the Qur’an (aka Koran), the holiest book of Islam. They both call themselves Muslim. They both go on Hajj every year to Mecca, in Saudi.

But, they seem to have spent the last 13 centuries killing each other.

I won’t go too deeply into the differences here. A deeper discussion can be found in the links at the end of this piece. But, I will discuss some general differences in character.

The Building of Islam

I was going to talk about the threat from other radical Islamic groups, but I think that we need to take a step back and look at the basic structure of Islam before putting Muslim radicals under our microscope.

First up: Mohammed

He was an ambitious, silver-tongued young man who grew up in the later part of the sixth century in the Arabian peninsula. He was born into prosperity and worked for the owner of a prosperous caravan. When aforementioned owner died, Mohammed sweet-talked his way into the affections of the wife (and heir) of the caravan owner – immediately launching Mohammed into the world of international trade.

All last week, I went on and on, ad nauseum, about the Nazi ideology that lies at the heart of the Palestinian national movement. The Palestinian nationalists were such a great place to start because their Nazism was so obvious. Their founders used Mein Kampf as their second bible, and their followers have made it a best seller.

But, what about threats from other manifestations of radical Islam?

Do we see the direct connection to Hitler’s Nationalist Socialist Party, that we saw with the Palestinian national movement? Do we see founders of these OTHER movements as having formed Waffen SS units during World War II and committing genocide?
